Located 1km offshore from Nilaveli Beach, Pigeon Island is one of Sri Lanka’s two marine national parks. Its shallow coral reef gardens are home to over 100 species of corals, hawksbill sea turtles, and harmless juvenile blacktip reef sharks that glide gracefully alongside snorkelers in crystal-clear waters.
